Madness in literature

In this last quarter of our school year my class and I all read the book "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. In this book it tells the story about a group of British boys that are on a plane and suddenly it crashes. These group of boys get stranded on an unknown island with absolutely no adults. The story tells about how they first started out on the island to be civilized people but in the end they don't stick together as a whole anymore. Evil takes over some of the boys and it all goes downhill from there. The story is very very explicit in detail and explains every little thing they go through and how they deal with it.

To be honest with everyone, I didn't really enjoy this book. In my own personal opinion it wasn't that great of a book but I know some people out there would like it. I would really recommend this book to someone who is VERY patient with books. This book kind of goes slow when adding up to the very big scene in the book. If you like slow but interesting when it hits the end of the book then this could be the book for you. Also, if you like books that challenge you a little bit then this could be the book for you too. It does have violence and kind of gory scenes you could visualize in your head but overall it isn't too bad to read. Honestly this book wasn't a horrible book to read but I just didn't like it personally. I know some people in my class did like it and some didn't. It's just really what you're interested in.

Thoughts on Life Is Beautiful!

Life is beautiful is a comedy/drama movie based on a man named Guido, his wife, and son. Guido is book Jewish book shop owner, who meets his wife at her engagement party he steals his heart and they run off and start a family. One day his wife's mother told the Nazis that Guido was Jewish. They took Guido and his son to a consternation camp, his wife finds out so when the trains were leaving she joins the women being taken to the camp. While there Guido is determined to use his imagination to make the camp sound like a fun game. Anyways on my thoughts I liked the movie it made laugh, it made me angry, and sad.

My favorite part is the ending which don't really want to talk about to spoil it but I will say it really shows how love can really keep people together. Also it shows you should never lose hope even when times are getting rough because it all works out in the end. It also made me want to cry but I kept it together (thank god), because if I didn't my mascara would have been running down my cheeks. Which I recommend if you're an emotional person do not wear eye makeup because you will ruin it.

Also I would like to say I don't really like romantic movies and this movie really wasn't that bad for a romance movie. So if you are really into romantic/comedy/drama movies I would recommend this movie to you.  Also I suggest to watch this with your family and friends because it will make you appreciate them and bring you guys together. Also another of my favorite parts is when Guido comes into the party with the horse.

5 Tips On How To Be Awkward When Presenting!

When presenting it may scare some people to death because some are just shy. When I mean some people I mean me, every time I hear that I have to present I freak out inside because I just think about people looking at me and imagine the worst scenarios in my head. So here are some tips on how not to be awkward while presenting. 1. Don't move around a lot! I mean I get talking with your hands or maybe moving around to show something but do not move around too much or do the pee pee dance. 2. If you are really bad with eye contact, just look at the back of the room, but do not look to point where your neck is all the way up just looking into space. 3. It's okay if you stutter or make a mistake, if you know me you know I am the queen of stuttering at some point I always end up stuttering. That's okay just play it off or just giggle to show you know you made it mistake but it's time to move on. 4. Have good posture, having good posture makes you look more awake and give more energizing energy of that makes sense. 5. Talk loud and clearly, make sure everyone can understand you, maybe crack a joke or two to lighten the mood.

If I Stay

If I stay is a movie and a book, the book interested me when I saw the movie (made me cry). The book was written by Gayle Foreman. It based on a girl named Mia Hall (17 years old) she and her family were involved in a car accident. She was the only one that survived but she is in a coma. While she is on the coma she can see her family and friend visiting her. She finds herself in a hard situation she has to determine to live or die. My favorite quote from the book is "I'm not sure this is the world I belong in anymore. I'm not sure that I want to wake up." I really liked this quote because I believe that some point in a persons' life they will feel like they don't belong. I recommend this book to people who like novels and like to have a book to read and then watch the movie. Also get ready to cry!

The Devil's Highway

The Devil'S Highway is based on a true story. It is mainly about immigration, it is about twenty six men trying to cross the border to end up in a dessert in Arizona. The book was written by Luis Alberto Urrea. The book is slow paced in the begging (starts to get interesting on the starting pages of 50). If you are wondering what the "Devil's Highway" actually is it is U.S. Route 666. It honestly freaked me out. I found this book interesting because some of my family members came to America as immaigrants, so I wanted to know more about the struggle. I recommend this book to people who are patient and like the subject of immigration. As you can tell from my blog about my Super Bowl commercial, I am very interested in the subject of immigration. This book got my interest when my social justice teacher Ms.Suarez was talking about it class. I muster wanted a book that described the pain and difficulty of how people cross the border to start a new life. One of my favorite quotes the book is "always behave with respect." I like this quote because a lot of because I feel like people can be disrespectful without even knowing.

Something I Regret.

Something I regret is not taking the private high school exam. I feel like I'm very vulnerable of rejection so I avoid anything that can reject me. At first I was going to take the exam but I backed out like 3 days before because I was scared. I regret not taking the test because maybe I could have got into Nazareth. Maybe I could've graduated from my first choice school.
